For my op-ed I will dissect and discuss the media’s need to
look into a victims life prior to an incident. It will attempt to look at the
act of victim blaming by media outlets.

Janie, I hope I have the opportunity to read what you write! I took a 60-Hour Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocacy Training back in October and it completely changed the way I look at rape culture. Victim-blaming is such a huge issue in our society and it's astounding that, most times, people perpetuate it without even realizing it. I'm wondering what context you'll explore in your op-ed with victim-blaming. Sexual assault seems to be the obvious angle but I'm sure it happens in many other ways, too!
